A woman is charged with simple battery after using her foot to "push" a one-year-old at a Grovetown daycare.

Grovetown Police Department says a parent arrived at an Old Wrightsboro Road daycare facility to find her child "visibly upset and inconsolable." The parent asked to review surveillance footage of the day and it was determined that the child had been "pushed," landing in a "seated position" while on the playground. GPD says the employee approached a group of children and used her foot to seat the child in question. It is unclear why the child was "pushed" to the ground, but GPD says the child was not injured. It is unclear if the child became inconsolable at the time of the incident or at another time closer to when the parent arrived for pick up.

The investigation is ongoing.
