AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - Master Automotive has pledged $500,000 to support the new Automotive Institute at Augusta Technical College.

The new automotive institute will be 65,000 square feet and be located on the site of the former Johnson Cadillac on Walton Way.

There, Augusta Technical College officials hope to teach one thousand students per year the skills they need to obtain careers in the automotive industry.

The new educational facility will be called the Jim Hudson Automotive Institute, as the automotive group donated $1 million to the campus. The college also received $1 million dollars each from Augusta National Golf Club and the Knox Foundation to acquire the building.

The first classes at the Automotive Institute will be offered Fall 2025.
