AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - Students at Augusta University will pay more in tuition starting in the fall.

The University System of Georgia approved tuition increases for the 2024 and 2025 academic year.

Academic authorities have cited the need for higher tuition fees due to escalated expenses in software, food, insurance, and employee salaries across university campuses.

Undergraduate tuition for in-state students is set to climb by 2.5 percent, while out-of-state tuition will increase by five percent. Augusta University officials have assured us that detailed information regarding the changes will be communicated to students in the coming weeks.

As of now, first-year, in-state undergraduate students should anticipate an additional $358 expense during the fall semester. Stay tuned for further updates as the university prepares to implement these adjustments.
