NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - A new restaurant on North Augusta's Knox Avenue has a menu that'll have your mouth watering with stacked, flavorful, handheld sandwiches.

It's called Le Bodega Eatery, a small shop with a mix of culture on its menu and on its walls.

Head chef Terica Hills knows how to work the grill. If you've never had a sweet and savory mix, she said you're missing out on a lot.

"You're going to get your breakfast that's mixed with your sweet and savory because a lot of people in the mornings, they like to enjoy their coffee with a donut," Hills said. "So, why not come here and get a 'Donwich'. You can get your donut. You can get your bacon."

Hills created the French toast sandwich. It's a handheld that requires several napkins.

It's got sausage, bacon, egg and melty cheese all on French toast, topped with powdered sugar.

"You put your beef patty, get you some sharp cheddar cheese, get you an egg, and you get three strips of bacon," Hills said. "Slap it on there."

Hills said the French toast sandwich is her favorite thing on the menu.

One thing she doesn't play with is her seasoning.

"Don't tell me you're like some other people," she said. "Some other people's seasoning is ketchup. Barbecue sauce."

Wings are also on the menu and "Sweet Bodega" is their dry rub.

"It's mixed with brown sugar, little bit of seasoning, we toss it, then that's it," Hills described.

Le Bodega Eatery also offers fresh fruit smoothies.

They do offer a discount for military, teachers and first responders.

The restaurant is open 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
