AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. - In Aiken County, family and friends gathered together to honor Amari Williams who was shot and killed Monday night.

Gathering at Redd Street Park purple and black balloons filled the area. Williams' Mother Courtney Davis tells us that those were his favorite colors.

"Every time you see him, he had on a black hoodie." Said, Davis.

Davis also lost another son five months ago. His ashes were present at the event. Davis says that through it all she must push through.

"I know they wouldn't want me to be sad. They wouldn't want me to be in a dark place." Said, Davis.

Cesilie Weatherford says that she was with Williams and watched him take his last breath.

"I had to sit there and watch my Fiancé die. I watched him take his last breath with my head in his lap." Said, Weatherford.

The family plans to host a fish fry on Saturday. Weatherford also created a GoFundMe to help with expenses.

FOX54 will continue to follow this story as it develops.
