AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - A man wanted for aggravated assault by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office has been arrested.

According to the sheriff's office, 27-year-old Tyrell Dayquan Lewis barricaded himself inside a home on Basswood Drive, which led the sheriff's SWAT team to respond.

The arrest is connected to an incident that happened on May 24 on Mike Padgett Highway. Deputies arrived to find John Wright with a gunshot wound. Wright told deputies that he had gone to his girlfriend's house where an argument broke out between him and his girlfriend. He said Tyrell Lewis, who is the father of his girlfriend's child, was also there, and they argued too.

According to Wright, Lewis then shot him. Wright managed to escape and ran a short distance before collapsing.
