AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - UPDATE: The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old ZyRick Jackson has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. He was wanted in connection to a shooting that happened on May 9 that happened at Azalea Park apartments.


The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is searching for an 18-year-old wanted in connection to a shooting over a PlayStation 4 at the Azalea Park apartments. 

Authorities say ZyRick Jackson is wanted in connection to a shooting that happened on May 9 and is considered to be armed and dangerous. 

Deputies arrived on scene around 8:30 p.m. and saw that Jackson had been shot in both legs. 

The victim, Micah Lawson, told deputies that Jackson pulled a gun on him in the middle of their argument. Lawson says he was acting in self defense when he tried to get the gun and ran away. Authorities say that's when Jackson shot at least once at Lawson. 

Jackson told authorities that he was trying to keep his gun away from the victim and that's when a gunshot was accidentally fired into his left leg.

Jackson added that he does not remember of Mr. Lawson grabbed his firearm in his waistband or whether he shot himself in the right leg. He was also unable to explain what happened to his handgun after the shooting. 

According to the police report, Jackson was taken to MCG and was in stable condition. The report did not release any info about how he got out of the medical facility. 

Jackson is facing a charge of aggravated assault. Anyone with any information on where he may be is asked to call the sheriff's office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1034.
