EVANS, Ga (WFXG) - Rally Point Grille helped families celebrate the special women in their lives on Sunday.

Rally Point Grille is a local museum with walls covered with military memorabilia from veterans and their families.

Families gathered at the restaurant for its Mother's Day brunch.

The brunch included a The Augusta burger, bacon, fruit, and chicken and waffles.

Owner, Tiffany O'Neal says they decided to do this event as a way to give back.

"I wanted to take some of my momma's favorites because she is so far away. Mix it with CSRA favorites and just love on y'all. I firmly believe that a hero's first hero is mom," O'Neal said.

O'Neal told FOX54 that this is her first Mother's Day without her kids. So, the restaurant decided to give each mother flowers after their meals.

"A way of honoring the women. Who have not only raised the ones who have served us but also to the ones who have served," O'Neal explained.

Ronny Gordon took his mother to the restaurant for brunch.

"Me coming here is the big surprise. Whatever she needs to be done. You know the little things that you take for granted," Gordon explains

"I'm happy he's here. You know I don't see him all the time so, I enjoyed every minute of it," Elida Jessie, Gordon's mother, explained.

O'Neal says that she looks forward to doing something special like this again.
