AUGUSTA, Ga. - Governor Kemp signed house bill 1015 at the Augusta Municipal building on April 18th.

The bill managed to pass both chambers of the legislative branch before the 2024 legislative session ended earlier this year.

The bill will cut income tax rates in the peach state annually until the income tax rate reaches 4.99%.

While the bill will cut income taxes over the course of a few years, there are some exceptions. If the fiscal year budget is not 3% higher than the current year's budget, the bill allows the income tax cuts to be delayed.

A delay could also be triggered if the government's revenue collection is not higher than the previous 3 years.
