SLED: Two Saluda County men charged in 2018 murder case
SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. (WFXG) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) says two men from Saluda County have been charged in connection with a murder case dating back to 2018.
According to SLED, 30-year-old Derrick Cyrus Jr faces charges of being an accessory after the fact to murder.
According to a press release, Cyrus is accused of knowingly and willfully assisting twenty-four-year-old Earl Eugene Valentine Jr following the shooting of the death of 38-year-old James Patrick Kinard on Oct. 19, 2018.
The incident happened in the area of Hazzard Circle in Ridge Spring.
Valentine is being charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Cyrus and Valentine have been taken into custody and booked at the Saluda County Detention Center.
