AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - The City of Augusta announced new traffic changes near the Augusta National Golf Club ahead of the 2024 Masters Tournament.

Starting April 1, the new traffic signal at Washington Road and River Ridge Drive will begin controlling traffic mid-morning.

Crews are installing a u-turn lane on Riverwatch Parkway at Topgolf Way and two westbound lanes will be shifted to the right to make room. The outside left turn lane, westbound to southbound, on Riverwatch Parkway will be closed for traffic safety reasons throughout the entire tournament.

Crews will also repaint the outside left turn lane, southbound to eastbound, on Alexander Drive at Washington Road. The lane will be converted to a through lane for the Masters Tournament.

Officials have announced a brand-new QR code that will allow drivers to scan with their phones to use Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze GPS apps to see the traffic changes in real-time.
