BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - Three men were taken into custody after deputies found 65 bags of marijuana in a car they were traveling in. 

According to the Burke County Sheriff's Office, the traffic stop occurred after a deputy noticed a equipment violation on the vehicle. 

According to the deputy, one of the men attempted to exit the vehicle but was ordered back inside the car by the responding officer.

During the course of the investigation, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the car. As such, a search was performed on the vehicle with the assistance of other deputies. In total, authorities found 214 grams of marijuana inside the car and also seized over $3,000 from the vehicle. 

All three occupants of the vehicle, Corrie Boyd, Alvin Griffin, and Tyrone Abrams, have been charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
