FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. - The first woman to join the Army in her family - Staff Sergeant Tiffany Oliver makes them proud. She serves our country and leads our next generation of soldiers.

“From a day to day pretty much, we come in, we instruct, we gather the soldiers from coming from the company areas," said SSG. Tiffany Oliver, "I really enjoy that I get to inspire them before they get to their first unit.”

She wants to set an example because someone did it for her. She says it made a difference in her Army story.

"So…I was here as a student about four, almost five years ago, and he was my AIT Platoon Sergeant. Now I’m back as an instructor and he’s now my first sergeant." said SSG. Oliver.

Now, she’s in the same position training our future soldiers.

"It means a lot – it’s truly an honor to be able to be in this role. It’s a lot of responsibility, but for me, I haven’t even worked a day yet because I love interacting with the soldiers and getting them to see bigger picture.” said SSG. Oliver.

She comes from a family of service who is there for her every step of the way. Her 5-year-old son is one of her biggest fans.

"They like that I love what I do and they’re very supportive,” said SSG. Oliver, "He calls me Hulk because of the green and Hulk is strong. It’s always – let’s do some push ups mommy!”

FOX54 salutes SSG. Tiffany Oliver.

"You know like, when you drop a pebble into the water and it ripples out? That’s kind of what I’m trying to do here.” SSG. Oliver, "It’s okay to be a good person and still follow the standard and it’s okay to inspire people.”
