FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. - When you think of your accomplishments, you may remember trophies or awards. But, for a Sergeant Major, he says his greatest accomplishment is seeing the people he has mentored become successful.

“I’m the Signal School Operations Sergeant Major, and how I would put that is the center of gravity for all things that go on in and outside the Signal School that we influence.” said SGM. Christopher Stadler, Signal School Operations (Fort Eisenhower).

Sergeant Major Christopher Stadler has always been a team player, literally.

"I played sports from the time I could walk…I realized that team-centric time would be coming to an end, and so I really was looking for to be part of something bigger and better and then I did join after 9/11, so 9/11 was like the last push to get me to go in and be something bigger than myself.” said SGM. Stadler.

With 19 years of service under his belt, SGM. Stadler says his why has changed.

"I have a database of information and experience in my head, right? So, now it’s about pouring that into the leaders of tomorrow – it has nothing to do with me anymore.” said SGM. Stadler.

Right now, he works in a behind the scenes role. However, SGM. Stadler believes his strong suit is mentorship.

"I will never know, you know, 100% if they can do it or not, but I have faith they can do it, whether I was their teacher, mentor, leader, coach or not – the new generation will step up to the plate just like every generation has before.” said SGM. Stadler.

Ultimately, he credits his family for his success.

"Often I call myself the rock, and her [his wife] the glue…” said SGM. Stadler.

FOX54 salutes SGM.  Christopher Stadler.

"All I really want is to teach, train, and mentor soldiers in the Army and be a good role model for my sons,” said SGM. Stadler, “Through the years, I’ve gotten random emails at times that brighten up my day that say hey, because of you I was able to do this and I just graduated from whatever – right? That’s really what ties back to why I keep going.”
