RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - Residents in Richmond County with questions or concerns about public services in the community can now be answered in an easier way. The city of Augusta has released an artificial intelligence chatbot to help.

Augusta 311 is a long-standing program meant for non-emergency questions and suggestions. It is accessible by phone and mobile app.

The city's 311 program has a new feature called "Ask Gus", that allows people to get answers about city services, submit service requests, or ask specific staff members questions.

"We just wanted to make sure we waited until the right time. We are about to give the website a refresh, a new look. So, this was a great time to implement it, Now the AI is hot and trending. It's something that citizens and visitors will definitely appreciate." said Kelli Walker, Department Manager for Augusta 311.
