EVANS, Ga. - Some people may want to try a do-it-yourself project but don't know where to start. That's where Nailed It! DIY Studio in Evans steps in.

The shop is helping customers create anything they want, all while having fun doing it.

"We're kind of like Build-a-Bear, but with wood," owner Christina Purkapile laughed.

The ladies at Nailed it! DIY Studio aren't bartenders, they're art tenders.

"We get to use power tools here. And, that was right up my alley," Purkapile said.

Customers can build a wood project, even if they have never touched a staple gun.

"We make sure if someone really looks at one of those techniques and then says I really love that, but I can't do that. We're like, we're going to do it and we're going to help you through the process," Purkapile explained.

DIY'ers can just walk in, put on an apron and get to work.

Customers can spend date night or girls night out creating a sign, wooden box or any project they can think of to decorate their home with.

Be prepared to get messy working with paint. Manager Amber said the paint comes off your hands, but maybe not your clothes.

She said they've had up to 25 people around their bar working projects.

"Even last year during Masters time, we had people that were coming in while they were visiting and things like that. We've had people from North Augusta, Aiken, Graniteville. We've had people from Evans, Harlem, we've had people from Thomson, even as far as Burke County," Amber said.

The art tenders make sure not to leave you hanging.

"We go through. We tell it very detailed, all the way from sanding, bringing it back over to the station, figuring out what color they want to do," Amber said. "We do it very detailed of making sure they're not clashing with anything at their home if they want it to match."

Customers can walk in without an appointment at Nailed It! DIY Studio in Evans Towne Center.

Safety is top of mind. The art tenders take time to walk customers through the safety features of each tool.

They have 14 different bases to choose from for projects.
