OBITUARY: Former State Senator Don Cheeks has died

Former Georgia State Senator Donald Cheeks has died, according to an obituary published by Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors.  According to the published obituary, Cheeks died Sunday at age 92.  He served in the senate from 1992-2004.  Prior to that he served a few terms as a state representative between the 1960's and early 1990's.

His obituary indicates he husband to his late wife, Betty Cheeks, for 64 years.  Identified as a longtime member of Curtis Baptist Church, his obituary requests any memorial contributions be made there.
