UPDATE: Richmond County Sheriff's Office confirms Lowden has been located and taken to Charles B. Webster Detention Center. No word yet on what, if any, charges have been filed.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to report any sightings of a man who they say jumped from an ambulance which was transporting him to a mental health facility.

Authorities say 38-year-old John Lawden Jr. was taken by ambulance from Piedmont Augusta Hospital and was en route to a different facility when he exited the vehicle on St. Sebastian Way at Walton Way. He fled on foot.

Lowden is described as 6'1" in height and 205 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue scrubs.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact RCSO.
