UPDATE: Wreck in McDuffie Co. delays traffic for 2 hours

THOMSON, Ga. - McDuffie County school buses were delayed on Friday morning due to an accident on SR 17. The school system confirmed to FOX54 the accident caused the buses to detour.
Georgia State Patrol says a Chevrolet Silverado was attempting to make a left turn when a McDuffie County EMS ambulance rear-ended the pickup truck. The impact caused the Silverado to enter the path of a concrete truck that was traveling northbound. The impact between the Silverado and the concrete truck caused the fuel tank on the concrete truck to rupture and spill diesel fuel on the roadway. Due to the fuel spill and extensive damage of the vehicles, State Route 17 was closed for approximately two hours, according to GSP.
The drivers of the Silverado and the concrete truck were transported to the hospital with non-life threating injuries. The occupants of the ambulance did not sustain injury, we're told.
McDuffie County Schools are operating according to schedule.
