Human remains found in Augusta, will be sent to GBI Crime Lab

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Richmond County deputies were called to Quarry Road in Augusta, off River Watch Parkway where human remains were discovered and reported.  There is little information as the investigation is just getting underway.  Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says the remains will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for autopsy and identification.

On September 15, 2023, at 10:45am, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4000 block of Quarry Road in reference to found human remains. The investigation is in its early stages and there is no further information available.
