AUGUSTA, Ga. - Gold Cross says it has a solution to the shortage of Emergency Medical Technicians.  It will soon begin its second 3-week emergency medical technician training program to train a new wave of EMTs.

Training is not only free, but the students will also be paid for their time spent in the classroom. After finishing the course, the students have a job waiting for them.

Director of Business Development Michael Meyers says this program started as a way for gold cross to give back, welcoming people from numerous different backgrounds. Whether the students are looking for a job change to begin a new chapter their life, Gold Cross says it has a job for them.

To apply, interested candidates can go to the Gold Cross website and click on the application link. They will then go through an interview process. Gold Cross hopes to accept 15-18 applicants into its program that begins at the end of September.
