Murdaugh attorneys file motion for new trial

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A spokesperson for Alex Murdaugh's defense team says attorneys Dick Harpootlian and Jim Griffin have filed a motion requesting a new trial for the disgraced South Carolina lawyer convicted in March of killing his wife, Maggie, and son Paul.
The spokesperson says "after-discovered evidence" is the reason for the filing. Harpootlian and Griffin are expected to hold a press conference in Columbia on September 5th.
