A very warm night, at Grovetown High, as the Warriors battled the Wolfpack of Greenbrier.
Both teams looking for their first wins of the season.
First quarter: the Warriors clicking on all cylinders on the first drive of the game.
Jaden Williams with a strong run to get the Grovetown in good field position.
QB Amare Clark finds Jaquez Ivey for the nice gain.
Then he caps of the drive with a 3-yard touchdown run. Grovetown up 7-0.
Later on, Grovetown running back Jaden Williams gets the edge and picks up a first down.
Make it 14-0 Grovetown, when the Warriors call long distance, and they connect, an 82-yard touchdown pass,
Marques Fobbs, Junior with the score.
The Wolfpack wouldn't be shutout though.
Elijah Chavez tips the ball up in the air and grabs the interception. The Wolfpack would run the ball into the end zone, but there was a flag on the play so they had to settle for just having the ball in the red zone.
A couple plays later, Vernon Guyton is the go to guy, with a 26-yard TD reception, the extra point is missed and Greenbrier closes the gap to 14-6.
Grovetown increased the lead with a minute to go in the half, Jaquez Ivey with the 15-yard TD reception.
The extra point was missed 20-6 Warriors.
Grovetown goes on, to win this one 36-21.
