AUGUSTA, Ga. - For two years, one sandwich shop on Old Evans Road has served up sandwiches, wraps and salads with a side of heavy metal that'll have you headbanging.

Slamming into Mosh Pit Eats, you'll see heavy metal memorabilia covering the walls.

"This is what we look like at home. We turn our lifestyle into a brand. We try to do everything that we enjoy," co-owner Jason Parrish said.

As former restaurant general managers, owners Jason and Amber Parrish mix their favorite things - heavy metal, rock and a restaurant.

"My wife's more of the metalhead. I'm more kind of a laidback, you know, I like the blues and southern rock. She is the metalhead," Jason Parrish said.

In the kitchen, they're whipping up sandwiches named after songs or bands they love.

"We were wondering how it was going to be received, right? In the community," Jason Parrish said. "We have ages teenagers all the way up to, you know, retiree age coming in that can relate to some sort of piece of the business."

Their kids help out around the restaurant, making it a family-run business. Their kitchen's so busy, we had to stop our interview with Amber.

"I have a Doordash. And guess what she ordered? The cowboy. She orders this every single day of the week, honestly," Amber Parrish said.

The "Cowboy from Hell", named after heavy metal band Pantera's song, is piled high with roast beef, provolone, spring mix, pickles, jalapeno, chipotle mayo and Amber's homemade pickled red onion and a sweet n' spicy coleslaw that takes you to flavortown.

Jason says Amber's the brains behind new menu items.

"People come in and they're like, they think it's way to weird and they want to take something away or add something. People actually make my brain work when they do that. I'm like always wanting to change the menu. I'm like, that's a good idea! He's like, no we just got new menus. You can't change it," Amber laughed.

To top off a combo at Mosh Pit Eats, Amber's brownies are a must-try. She describes them as "ooey-gooey".

When they're not at the restaurant, you can find the Parrishes at a live show or music festival.

"We're not bad. We're very nice. Very cool. Very down-to-earth. We love our customers. The reason we do this is to see people smile, right? That's what gives us joy," Jason Parrish said.
