Waynesboro man arrested after narcotics search at his home

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WFXG) - The Burke County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for allegedly selling narcotics.
Investigators say at around 4:16 p.m. Friday, May 19, the sheriff's office's Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a home on the 600 block of Wallace St. in Waynesboro. They say they believed narcotics were being sold out of the home. Investigators say they found and confiscated marijuana and MDMA pills during that search.
As a result, deputies arrested twenty-nine-year-old Alphonse Fredrick Birdine and booked him into the Burke County Detention Center. The sheriff's office has charged Birdine with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within one thousand feet of a housing project, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within one thousand feet of a housing project, and unlawful street gang activity.
