Pedestrian killed in Thomson crash

THOMSON, Ga, (WFXG) - A family is mourning after a crash took the life of a Thomson woman.

The McDuffie County Coroner's Office confirms, 30-year-old Mercedes Shaw was walking near the intersection of Salem road and East Hill street when she was struck by a vehicle.

The Coroner tells us the 911 call came in at 10:18 p.m. Thursday night. Shaw was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:50 p.m.
