AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WFXG) - Aiken County Public Schools has announced its new Highland Springs Middle School will employ two current employees of the school system.

Assistant Principal Eliezer Badillo has served as the interim assistant principal at Silver Bluff High School since February. ACPS says Badillo is currently pursuing his doctoral degree and hopes to “create from the ground up a fabulous, healthy school culture for students, staff, and families" at Aiken County's newest school.

Assistant Principal Jeremy Lehman teaches social studies at North Augusta High School. He is a two-time teacher of the year honoree and says, “I feel it is important for everyone to be a part of this unique opportunity in creating their own legacy at HSMS.”

Both will join Paige Day, previously named as Principal for Highland Springs Middle School, on the school's leadership team.

Badillo and Lehman will begin their new roles in July. Highland Springs Middle School is currently enrolling students for the upcoming school year.

CORRECTION: A previous report cited Eliezer Badillo as a new Principal and did not specify he was joining as an Assistant Principal.  In a previous release, Paige Day was named Principal for Highland Springs Middle School.
