BURNETTOWN, S.C. (WFXG) - A 16-year-old driver has died after a two-vehicle wreck in which he was not using a seat belt, according to the Aiken County coroner's office.

The wreck happened just after 4 p.m. Wednesday on Jefferson David Highway in Burnettown. According to the coroner's office, 16-year-old Tayron Kirkland was unrestrained and attempting to change lanes when his car hit another and overturned. Kirkland was ejected and died Thursday. 

The Burnettown Police Department is investigating the crash.
