RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - A local family hopes you can help heat up a cold case. It's about the death of Brandon Grubbs. The 21-year-old was killed in his Richmond County home in 2016. The family now wants the case to be turned over to the GBI.

They're tired, they're frustrated. Ultimately, they want answers from investigators because they believe they've already found some. But, justice still has not come in Brandon's death.

“My daughter called me screaming he’s gone momma. He’s gone…My heart went to my toes. It’s a nightmare.” said Cathy Williams, Brandon's Mother.

December 28, 2016: A family was never the same.

"He did not deserve this…I don’t know what else to do. I need help. I need justice for my angel.” said Williams.

“No matter what we have to do, where we have to go, who we have to talk to…We’re going to get it.” added Kristen McGuyton, Brandon's Sister.

Nearly seven years ago, someone shot and killed 21-year-old Brandon Grubbs inside of his home on Barbara road. In 2023, this family still doesn't have answers.

"My son’s case has been through 8 or 9 investigators. Still nothing. That’s Richmond County.” said Williams.

Now, all they have are pictures and memories. The family is frustrated - feeling confident they have their own leads.

"I believe he was set up...He put the dogs up in the room to let whoever it was in. So, it had to be someone he knows...[There are] People bragging in jail that they done it and they’re getting away with it.” said Williams.

Williams wants her son’s case turned over to the GBI in hopes of justice and closure.

"I know he’s our angel watching over us. I love you so much," said Williams.

FOX54 contacted the Sheriff’s Office about this case. So far, we have not heard back.
