WASHINGTON, D.C. (WFXG) - On Tuesday, May 16, the Biden administration announced new efforts they're hoping will help more Americans access to jobs.

The administration says the Investing in America agenda is a collaborative effort between several agencies. Its goal, according to the release on the White House website, is to make sure every American has access to high-quality job training, education, and other services, whether or not they attended college. The administration says with companies investing hundreds of billions of dollars in clean energy and the jobs created by the bipartisan infrastructure law, America will need highly skilled workers.

To help find and train those workers, workforce hubs will be built in several major cities, including Augusta, Georgia. The administration says it will partner with state and local officials, employers, unions, and schools to help produce diverse skilled workers. The other workforce hub cities will include Phoenix, Columbus, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh.

In addition to the workforce hubs, the administration says it will also make a push for advanced manufacturing and set up other cities to help compliment the initial five workforce hubs.
