GROVETOWN, Ga. (WFXG) - A shooting in Grovetown Tuesday ended with a woman turning herself in to police and a man being treated for a gunshot wound.

According to Grovetown Police, officers responded to a home on the 2100 block of Grove Landing Way for a reported shooting just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officials say that while officers were on the scene, forty-four-year-old Tasha Lawrence walked into the Grovetown Police Department and confessed to the shooting.

The victim, a family member of Lawrence's, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officials say Lawrence had gone to the home to wish her mother a happy Mother's Day. When she saw the family member, whom she reportedly had an ongoing dispute with, she allegedly got a gun from her vehicle and shot him. She's been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
