MCCORMICK, S.C. (WFXG) - South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a former McCormick County deputy with domestic violence.

SLED announced Monday that they arrested thirty-three-year-old James Patrick Florida, III on May 5 and charged him with second-degree domestic violence. Florida has been booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center.

According to the arrest warrant, the incident happened on Jul. 22, 2022 in Edgefield, South Carolina. The warrant says Florida caused physical hard to an unnamed person, leaving bruises on their face and body. A cell phone was broken during the incident.

The Edgefield County Sheriff's Office requested SLED get involved in the case.
