AUGUSTA, Ga (WFXG) - The Spring Greek Fest kicked off in downtown Augusta at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

People came out for the fest day of the festival. John Templeton and Gary Itzstein say they have been coming out to this event for 15 years.

"We love the atmosphere of people being kind to each other." Said, Templeton

While at the Greek Fest people were able to get food, listen to music, and shop around at the vendor's tent.

"Greek Food! The best bloody food on the market." Said, Itzstein.

Vendors craft their own merchandise to sell to others. Such as body care, oils, wood carvings, bags, and clothing.

Niko Leontaritis says that they make their products from a family recipe.

"It's a Greek recipe of goat's milk and olive oil soaps. It's a recipe from our Uncle." Said, Leontaritis.

Greek Fest will last throughout the weekend ending on Sunday.
