AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - All eyes are on the golfers as round one of the Masters Tournament is underway. As patrons come from far and near to watch the tournament, golf isn’t the only thing on par. Golfers and patrons alike are turning heads this week as they make fashion statements.

For Jordan Legros, a first-time patron from Louisiana, dressing a little extra just made sense. He opted for a green groundhog polo and zebra pants to tie it all together.

“You go to the Masters, you gotta do something a little special,” Legros says.

Melissa Rutledge traveled from Arkansas to watch the tournament. She’s attended the Masters countless time and always dresses for comfort.

“I think a short dress is key,” Rutledge says. “In a long dress you could not walk the course and we enjoy walking as much as we can. So, yeah, short dress, tennis shoes.”

Some start looking for outfits the second they purchase their tickets.

“When it comes to the masters: fashion first, golf second,” says patron Bryan Keith from New York. “Also, with no cellphones, I needed my friends to be able to find me today.”

After attending for years, North Augusta patron Tracy Griffin has mastered Master’s fashion.

“The brighter the better,” Griffin says. “What I love about it….the spring colors come out and I mean you see everything you could imagine, especially with the golf players now and their wild and crazy outfits.”
