Harlem hosts 3rd annual Small Business Expo
HARLEM, Ga (WFXG) - Harlem's 3rd annual Small Business Expo happened this weekend.
Tents filled up the Harlem Town Center for their annual Small Business Expo. Folks dropped in to enjoy all it had to offer. Kids were able to enjoy the petting zoo, ride miniature horses, play on bounce houses, and much more.
Harlem Mayor Roxanne Whitaker says it's an amazing opportunity. "[Bring] in-home business out to the festival to show off their wares...we're here and it has grown tremendously," says Mayor Whitaker.
Amber King created the event three years ago, with a vision to help small businesses affected by the pandemic.
"...to be exposed and gain exposure from the community," explains Amber King.
The expo started with 10 businesses, and now it has grown to over 30 businesses participating each year.
"Small business owners are the heartbeat of our community," said Alison Couch, Columbia County District 4 Commissioner.
This marks the beginning of events in Downtown Harlem. For more information on upcoming events, be sure to follow their social media accounts or click here.
