AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - A celebration of Black History happened at A. Brian Merry Elementary on February 28th. It was an evening filled with tributes and musical performances. Fox54s Vonetta Hinton was there with her children who were in the show, and she asked her son Immanu'EL about the importance of recognizing Black History Month.

"Because it celebrates the importance of Black people. I sung "Lift Every Voice and Sing" and I spoke a speech about James McClure Smith," says Immanu'EL.
