GROVETOWN, Ga. (WFXG) - Tuesday morning, investigators from the Grovetown Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a residence on the 1800 block of Hunters Cove in Evans in reference to an investigation of child sexual abuse material.

The warrant comes after an investigation into a cybertip received through the GBI Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC). The tip revealed that in October 2022, several dozen sexually explicit images and videos involving children had been uploaded to an online cloud system from devices registered to 20-year-old Stanley Hester. At the time, Hester lived within the city limits of Grovetown.

Hester was taken into custody without incident. Multiple electronic devices were located and seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Hester was committed to Columbia County Detention Center for two counts of possession of child pornography.
