THE HANGAR HOUSES THE AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT PROGRAM AS WELL AS A SHELTER FOR THE REGION’S ONLY HOSPITAL-OWNED MEDICAL HELICOPTER.

“THE SPEED AND RANGE OF THIS AIRCRAFT ALLOWS US TO PUT OUR CREWS IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME, IF NOT, JUST MOMENTS AFTER THEY NEED IT," AIR CARE 1, PROGAM DIRECTOR, ZACH LANCASTER SAYS. "THE RANGE OF OVER 300 MILES AND SPEEDS OF 140 MILES AN HOUR ALLOWS US TO BRING AU’S CARE TO WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE VERY QUICK.”

FLIGHT CREWS WILL NOW HAVE COMFORTABLE LIVING QUARTERS, ROOMS FOR TRAINING RESIDENTS AND STUDENTS OF THE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF GEORGIA AND storage rooms for medical supplies and a conference room.
