JOHNSTON, S.C. (WFXG) - The Strom Thurmond Rebels took on the Saluda Tigers in the third round of the playoffs Friday.

The two rival teams faced off in round three of the SCHL class AA playoffs under the Friday night lights. Fans showed up to support their teams.

Saluda scored the first touchdown within the first ten minutes of the game. This was only the beginning of their continued lead over the Rebels.

At the half, Saluda led the game with 21 points over Strom Thurmond's zero.

"They'll [Rebels] have to first focus...Play good defense and just execute on everything they do." Said Troy McKevie.

Both teams fought hard for their chance to play in the championship game. Ultimately, Saluda came out on top, winning the game 28-0 and ending the ten-game winning streak of the Strom Thurmond Rebels.

The Saluda Tigers will be advancing to the next round of playoffs.
