Man arrested for masturbating in Martinez parking lot

MARTINEZ, Ga. (WFXG) - The Columbia County Sheriff's Office arrested a man for allegedly masturbating in his parked car.

Just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, deputies responded to the parking lot in front of Sunrise Grill in Martinez for reports of indecent exposure. The person who called the sheriff's office told deputies that as she was walking to her car, she saw a man, later identified as Byron Clark, masturbating in the front seat of his car, which was parked next to hers. She was able to record a video before calling 911.

Clark reportedly left the scene, but was caught by deputies in another parking lot on Bobby Jones Expressway and brought back to the scene. The witness identified Clark and deputies took him to the detention center. According to the deputy transporting him, Clark said he was happy to be arrested because "it's an experience I haven`t experienced". The deputy told Clark he may have to register as a sex offender and he reportedly said, "well I'm never around kids anyway".

The sheriff's office charged Clark with public Indecency.
