AUGUSTA, Ga. - Chief Warrant Officer Chris Westbrook joined the Army in 1996 as a way to get of working three jobs.

Westbrook started his career in the Army is a Private First Class, eventually graduating warrant officer training.

Tuesday, September 11th 2001 was a normal day of training for this signal officer.  

However, after heading home for breakfast, his world and the world as a whole would change. 

"I thought it was a mistake," Westbrook said. "Then before I finished breakfast, the second plane hit."

Three years later, Westbrook would find himself in the first Battle of Fullujah.  

Westbrook spent over two years away from family because of deployments.

When asked if he would do it again, Westbrook had just one word to say.

Westbrook said, "Absolutely."
