LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - It's been just over a year since Eynn Wilson and EJ Kirk, Jr. drowned at Clarks Hill Lake. And now, the woman charged with their deaths has been sentenced.

Tuesday, June 21, Shontover Kirkland pleaded guilty in Lincoln County court to two counts of involuntary manslaughter. A judge sentenced her to ten years; the first 12 months to be served in jail and the rest on probation.

Kirk and Wilson both drowned after one of them fell off a boat on Clarks Hill Lake and the other jumped in to save him. The community came out to show their support to friends and family after the drownings.
