NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WFXG) - North Augusta Public Safety, Aiken County Fire Department, Belvedere Fire and other fire departments battled a house fire and structures on a property located on Chariot Court in North Augusta.

Aiken County dispatch confirms the call was received around 10:25 this morning. FOX54's Ashley Campbell spoke with the homeowner, Keith Thomas, who said he thought it is was a misunderstanding because his neighbor had been burning debris early this morning. However, Thomas said when he got to his house, he found his roof gone, windows blown out, along with several vehicles and structures behind his house turned to charred metal.

"I'm glad that I'm alive and wasn't in there sleeping. It's just material things. I just hate it. I'm coming up on retirement. Everything is paid for. I've got to start all over again," said Thomas.

Right now, there is no official word on what caused the house fire.
