AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WFXG) - UPDATE: The Aiken County Coroner's Office confirms that the suspect, John Williams, has died from his injuries.


The Aiken County Coroner's Office says a Warrenville woman was killed Friday evening and says the suspect turned the gun on himself.  The victim is identified as 34-year old Lacey Toole.  Toole was found in the front yard of her home and a man identified as her boyfriend was found suffering from what the coroner believes is a self-inflicted gunshot.  He is at Augusta University Medical Center in critical condition.

Deputies responded to the call on the 100 block of Pelzer Street in Warrenville Friday night after a call of shots fired. The investigation is determined to be a domestic incident between the two.  Ms. Toole will be autopsied in Newberry on Monday.  The shooting remains under investigation.

Saturday, June 4, 2022: The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that has claimed the life of a Warrenville woman. The shooting occurred on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 at 7:47 PM at a residence in the one hundred block of Pelzer Street, Warrenville. Deputies responded to a call of shots fired at the home, upon arriving a female was found in the front yard of the home suffering from a gunshot wound and a male was found on the front porch of the home also suffering from a gunshot wound. Both were transported to Augusta University Medical Center where the female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight, the male remains in critical condition. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Lacey Toole the girlfriend of the male. The investigation has determined following a domestic incident between Ms. Toole and her boyfriend, Ms. Toole was shot by her boyfriend who then turned a gun on himself. Ms. Toole will be autopsied in Newberry Monday morning. The Coroner’s office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office are continuing with the investigation.
