EAT.PLAY.GO. to Vibes and Vines Jazz Lounge
Vibes and Vines Jazz Lounge opens their doors in Beech Island. Last week, they held their grand opening.
Owners, Darnell Holston and Tongi Bartlett felt the CSRA needed something like this, Bartlett says, “We both live in South Carolina so we wanted to try to stay in South Carolina, keep the revenue here, give us something to do on this side of the river instead of everyone having to go to the other side of the river.”
They explain the concept, “Vibes and Vines Jazz Lounge is a live music venue. We have live jazz on Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights and we’re open for brunch... We just wanted to create a space for to relax, unwind and let go of the day.”
Bartlett says, “We came about the concept in an unusual way...I had a friend visiting from New York. My best friends suggested a place for us to go in Columbia... There was no place here so here we are today.”
Outside of jazz, the lounge has a vast menu, beer, wine and a zero-proof bar for 'mocktails.' “Our chicken lollipops are our big thing here everyone likes our chicken lollipops. They’re dipped in a spicy BBQ sauce and served over a mound of mashed potatoes, ”says Bartlett.
Holston and Bartlett says they wanted to create a safe space for working professionals to relax and enjoy some jazz.
