(FORT GORDON, Ga) FOX54 is focused on Saluting our Heroes.  Sergeant Daniel Mancia has been in the Army for four years now.  Mancia says he had no intentions of joining, but the birth of his son gave him a reason to need a career.

As a Military Police Officer, Mancia has seen it all from driving under the influence, drugs and domestic calls.

One domestic call became a matter of life and death, not for the victim, but for the soldier accused of assaulting his wife.  The soldier was battling post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD and had become suicidal.

Although the soldier had already injured himself, Mancia was able to talk his fellow service member down and place them under arrest.

Mancia’s watch commander describes him as one of the best Military Police Officers he has seen in the last 20 years.

Mancia is currently enrolled in college studying Information Technology.  His career goal is to become a criminal investigator to track cybercrimes against the United States Military.
