EAT.PLAY.GO. to Walk with the Spirits
AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Happening Oct. 23-24, Historic Augusta's 'Walk With the Spirits' returns to Magnolia Cemetery.
Mark Albertin will portray one of the spirits, “I’m portraying a character named Daniel Mixer. Daniel was born in 1801 and died in 1861. He’s buried here in Magnolia Cemetery. Daniel Mixer was known for being an innkeeper.”
Daniel Mixer is just one of the many spirits you’ll meet if you go to the 'Walk with the Spirits event.'
Albertin says, “as you walk a spirit will come up to you and basically guide you to where they are buried and talk to you a little bit about their past. There’s many wonderful stories here not only with my spirit but with a number of other spirits that’ll be portraying different people from Augusta’s past.”
The whole point of the event is to teach, “you learn so much Augusta has so much to learn about and there’s so many stories here and this is a beautiful old cemetery ”says Albertin.
Although the event sounds scary… you know with the whole spirit and cemetery it’s meant for the whole family.
'Walk with the Spirits' happens Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are twenty dollars for adults and ten dollars for children. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward historic Augusta. To purchase tickets, please click here.
