Graniteville man charged for taking minor across state lines for sex
AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - A forty-five-year-old Graniteville man is facing federal charges for allegedly taking a minor across state lines for sexual purposes.
According to the Department of Justice, Jonathan Eugene Grantham picked up a minor in Columbia County on or about July 20, 2019 and took them across state lines to engage in prostitution. The DOJ says Grantham is employed as a teacher at Ridge Sping-Monetta High School in Ridge Spring, South Carolina.
Grantham appeared before a U.S. District Court judge Friday. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison without parole.
