“Yeah, that really makes us unique having that way to cook it. It really comes out special,” owner Nader Khatib said.

It’s made by stacking pieces of seasoned meat on a vertical spit. The meat is roasted slowly on all sides as the spit rotates in front of a flame for hours. Something that really makes this place stand out, is the style of the cuisine itself and the fact that it's made in house and fresh to order Khatib said. Laziza brings fresh and flavorful Mediterranean cuisine to Downtown Augusta in a friendly, fast-casual kind of way.

“My mom cooked this food growing up so I watched my mom and my grandmother cook it every day."

It’s a spot that quickly turns guests into loyal fans.

“We have a really good gyro that’s just beef and lamb blend with tzatziki sauce. We do, you know shredded lettuce, tomato onion.”

With authentic flavors from Lebanon and family recipes passed down from generation to generation - Laziza is devoted to bringing you some flavorful eats.

“I don’t skimp at all with the spices. I feel like the spices really make the food different when you use the right type of spice.”
