NORTH AUGUSTA (WFXG) - There’s a new spot in North Augusta that is on a roll and I'm not just talking about cinnamon rolls.

"Mary, your day just got sweeter!"

Your day just got a little sweeter too. Since she was a teenager, Sheila Martin has been in the business of baking. "I started in a food truck in Evans Georgia," Martin tells FOX 54.

It’s a passion that connects her with others and brings a little extra sweetness into Downtown North Augusta.

“I feel like a bakery can kind of become the hub of a community of a town because there’s something about food and I feel like especially about bread and yeast-like product that is sort of wholesome and kind of just connects people," Martin explained. "It was always going to be kinda like a hobby I figured like I wanted to this but you know, really, is it going to happen? Probably not."

Oh but it did. From the timeless design to building out each piece of equipment herself. Some of the signature items are what keep customers coming back again and again. People wrap around Georgia Avenue to get a taste of Sheila’s donuts and apple fritters.

"My personal favorite is the Carmeli cinnamon roll.” And you can’t forget about that famous Cinnamon roll, smothered in brown butter cream cheese icing.

“There are very few places, doughnut shops that actually make their stuff like in their shop. I think that’s our main thing that sets us apart.”

Shelia says if you come to see her, she hopes you keep coming back.
